History
MOMS Club was
orginally founded by in 1983 by a stay-at-home mother in
California, she was tired of being alone at home and wanted to
meet other at-home mothers with children for her children to
play with. When she discovered no such organization existed,
she decided to start her own organization just for at-home
mothers, and the MOMS Club was born. Word spread about the
wonderful support that the MOMS Club offers at-home mothers
and we became a national organization in 1985. There are
now over 2,000 chapters and 100,000 members in the United
States with International chapters forming as well.
The MOMS Club of Fort
Lauderdale-East was started by Nathalie, Sue, Kathy, and
Debbie. Nathalie and Kathy were individually running
their own playgroup when one day in August 2002 these four
ladies got together and decided to start making plans.
In that first year they did a lot of pot-luck park days which
was how new mom’s would find out about our chapter and become
involved. |
